Funeral services for Mrs. Elena Saldana, age 87, will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Rev. Jay Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.

 

Mrs. Saldana passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi, after a brief illness. She was born September 27, 1932, in Austin, Texas, to Santiago and Jovita Iruegas.

 

Mrs. Saldana loved being outdoors cleaning her yard, gardening, and raising flowers. She loved cooking for her children and guests at her home. She loved taking care of her cats, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her granddaughter, Maria.

 

Mrs. Saldana was preceeded in death by her parents, Santiago and Jovita Iruegas; her husband, Benigno Saldana, Sr.; a brother, Miguel Iruegas; and two sons, Benigno Saldana, Jr. and Rauel Saldana.

 

Mrs. Saldana is survived by one brother, Valente Iruegas; seven sons, Julian Saldana, II, Santiago Saldana, Sr., wife Stacey, Valente Saldana, Miguel Saldana, wife Sandra, Felipe Saldana, Sr., wife Charlene, Benito Saldana, wife Kelly, and Gregorio Saldana, wife Alanna; two daughters, Adelita Saldana Rodriguez, husband Jose, and Lenor Saldana, husband Steve McLin; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Rueben Saldana, Gregorio Saldana, Jr., Kenneth Frank King, Tom Self, Robert Halford, Maria Self, and Eythan Womack.
