Saiewitz - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal May 3, 1968 Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. Saiewitz Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie M. Saiewitz, 90, who died Sunday night in a Vicksburg hospital after a long illness, were held at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday in Vicksburg. Services were conducted at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rabbi Alan Swartzman officiating. Burial followed in the Jewish Cemetery. Born in Rochester, N. Y., Mrs. Saiewitz had lived in Tallulah since 1910. She was the widow of Morris Saiewitz. She was a member of Anshc Chesed congregation, a member of the Madison Parish Garden Club, the Tallulah Book Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Eastern Star. Mrs. Saiewitz leaves two sons, Lester Saiewitz of Tallulah and Dr. Sam Saiewitz of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Edwa Van Rachee of Gulfport and Miss Leslie Saiewitz of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Jake Kern and Miss Ida Bloom of Tallulah; a brother, Ralph Bloom of Tallulah; a number of nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. The following great-nephews of Mrs. Saiewitz served as pallbearers: Reynold Minsky, Louis (Bubba) Minsky, Leon A. Minsky, Dr. Michael Rankin, Jerry Rankin and James David Caldwell.
