All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Gladys Day Russ - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 5, 1968 Mrs. Gladys Day Russ Dies December 31st Mrs. Gladys Day Russ passed away on Sunday December, 31, 1967. She had been ill for several months. Mrs. Russ, born in Mt. Olive, Miss. October, 24, 1907 was the daughter of the former, Beulah Williams, sister of the late Webb Williams of Tallulah. She came to Tallulah some forty years ago, and met and married Robert E. Russ of Tallulah, June, 18, 1929. They had one daughter, Mrs. W. W. Christian, the former Syble Russ. She is a member of Tallulah Baptist Church, and. funeral services were held there, with the Rev. John S. Hurt and the Rev. Clark Bell officiating. Interment followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery, Tallulah, La. She is survived by her devoted husband, R. E. Russ and one. daughter, Mrs. W. W. Christian, the former Syble Russ of New Orleans, La. and four grandchildren, Karen, Billy, Elizabeth and Robert Christian; Also a sister, Mrs. Willie May Miller of Mount Olive, Miss. Pallbearers were: Mr. Elmer Neill, Mr. T. A. Bishop, Mr. R. W. Gandy, Jr., Mr. Myron Erwin, Mr. Jack Ward and Mr. Art Gilliland.
