All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Hilton Russell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, November 16, 1951 Hilton Russell Hilton Russell, 64-year old Madison Parish resident died of a heart attack Saturday night, November 10th at the Madison Sanitarium at approximately nine o'clock. A native of Puckett, Miss., Mr., Russell had been a resident of this community the past 18 years. Besides owning a farm on Willow Bayou, he was an instructor at the Tallulah Trade School. He was a graduate of Mississippi College, where he received his A.B. degree, and received his L.L.B. degree from Millsaps College. He received a degree in construction engineering from the University. Mr. Russell was a candidate for the office of State Representative from this district. He was a member of the American Legion, an Entered Apprentice Mason, and a deacon of the Willow Bayou Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock at the Tallulah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lynn May, pastor of the Willow Bayou Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Percy Hammond, J. E. Furr, E. G. Hetland, Estes Williamson, Ed Robinson and Jess Brown. Besides his wife, Mrs. Eulalia Thompson Russell, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Jack Bowden, Mrs. Jess Williamson, both of Tallulah; Mrs. Fred Spiers, Farmington, Mich.; two sons, Hilton Russell, Jr., Horace Russell, both of Tallulah; two brothers, Scheley Russell, Mobile, Ala.: Horace Russell of Chicago, Ill. two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lott, Sumerall, Miss.; Mrs. Louie Kersh Atlanta, Ga., and six grandchildren.
