Ross - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 25, 1957 James Ross Passes: Rites Held Sunday Madison Parish Farmer Dies Friday Night After Long Illness James O. Ross, 62, Madison Parish farmer, died Friday night in a Vicksburg hospital after a long illness. A native of New Hebron, Miss., Mr. Ross had lived in Madison Parish for the past twenty-seven years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mamie Henderson Ross, two daughters, Mrs. John W. Wroten of Tallulah: and Mrs. Alma Eaton of Winston-Salem, N. C.; six sons, A. L. Ross of Transylvania; James D. Ross of Waverly; A. S. Ross of Lake Providence; O. S. Ross of Monroe; Robert M. Ross of Vincennes, Ill., and James O. Ross of Tallulah, two brothers, S. M. Ross of Los Angeles, Calif., and Toni Poe of Collins, Miss., one sister, Mrs. W. T. Roberts of Alexandria, Va.; seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Montrose Baptist Church Sunday afternoon with the Reverend James A. Bryant officiating, assisted by the Reverend Carl Barnes. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
