All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ David Lee Roper - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 15, 1971 Funeral services this afternoon for Mr. Roper David Lee Roper, 77, a former merchant of Tallulah, died suddenly Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock following an apparent heart attack. Born in Wilmont, Ark., Mr. Roper had made Tallulah his home for the past 35 years. He was married to the former Mattie Brewer, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie B. Roper; three sons, W. R. Roper, Tallulah, F. E. Roper, New Orleans, H. Lee Roper, Atlanta; three daughters, Mrs. Alvin Taylor, Tallulah, Mrs. B. J. Bullock, St. Amant, Mrs. H. H. Roy, Jr., Ruston; 16 grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m today at the First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.
