James Wesley "Buck" Reeves Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. James Wesley "Buck" Reeves Sr., age 97, of Tallulah, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Tallulah, with Bro. Jason McGuffie officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.

James Wesley "Buck" Reeves was born in rural Yell County, Arkansas, February 10, 1916, and died at the Olive Branch in Tallulah, Louisiana on Friday, December 13, 2013.

Buck moved to Tensas Parish in the early 1930's and was a resident of Madison Parish since 1945.

Buck, Tracy Weems, and J.D. Caldwell were actively involved in the organization of the youth baseball programs in Madison Parish.

Mr. Reeves retired with 32 years of service with Ouachita Coca Cola Bottling Company in Tallulah and Monroe and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah.

Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison "Jim" Reeves and Nancy Belle Carter, siblings-Florence Missouri, John Alec, Charles Odell, Martha Bell Benefield, Bertha Emmaline Benefield, Bertie Lee Butler, Lillian Gladys Teague-Townsend, Hester Lucille, Vadis Lorene, Luther Leon"Jack", Lla Mae Redwine, Mattie Leona Taylor-DeRouen, Viola Ethel Hoeft, and son-Michael Wayne Reeves.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Cora Mae Roberson Reeves, Son- James Wesley Jr. (Barbara) of Rayville, Grandsons-James Edwin (Selena Little) of Forrest City, Ar., and Michael Blair of Frisco, Texas, great grandchildren-Storm Matthew (Hailey), Ryan Wesley, Abbegail Marie, and William Grafton Hobbs, Haley Gayle Little and Lauren Kacey Little, Garrett Michael and Olivia Elise Reeves, and great great grandson-James Flynn Reeves, sister in law-Louise Roberson Cox and brother in law-Stanley Harmon, both of Tallulah, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Edwin Reeves, Blair Reeves, great grandson, Storm Reeves, nephews, Jackie Reeves, Eddie Roberson, Billy Cox, and Mike Cox. Honorary pallbearers are nephews, Don Butler, Luther "Gene" Butler and Bobby Lloyd Teague.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. L.P. Neumann, the staff of The Olive Branch Senior Care Facility (over the past 2 years), and staff at the Madison Parish Hospital (during the past 3 ½ weeks) for their care of our loved one.
