Purnell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post April 9, 1945 EDGAR PURNELL OF TALLULAH DEAD TALLULAH. La. April 9 - Edgar T. Purnell, 79. well-known resident of Tallulah, died at a Shreveport hospital Sunday morning. He had been in poor health for several years, and recently sufferrd a broken hip which was believed to have hastened his death. Though born in Mississippi he had resided in Tallulah for many years. Deceased is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Purnell, two sons, Edgar T. Purnell, Camden Ark., and William Purnell, Shreveport, and a daughter, Mrs. Tom Hendrick Grayson. La., and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. J. D. Maurer of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating.
