Pryor - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 2, 1956 R. C. Prior Killed In Plane Crash Raymond C. Prior Loses Life Near Estille, Miss., Sunday; Brother Critically Injured Raymond C. Pryor, age 48, was killed Sunday in a plane accident near Estille, Miss., according to reports. Mr. Prior, piloting his light plane, was sliding in for landing and hit a power line and crashed. He had only taken off from the small landing strip a few minutes earlier. His brother, R. L. Pryor, age 52, a passenger in the plane, was injured. He is reported to be in a critical condition at a Greenville, Miss., hospital. Prior, a resident of Tallulah and Madison Parish for about 10 years, was employed by E. C. Woodyear, plantation owner. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. W. F. Mayo, pastor of the Tallulah Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.\ Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Pryor, one son, Raymond, Jr., one daughter, Bobby Lee, all of Tallulah; two brothers, M. W. Pryor and R. L. Pryor of Estille, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. H. B. Dorris, of Jackson, Miss. Active pallbearers were Charles Arneson, Bob Gaunmitz, J. M. Ashley, George Barnes, Davis Carter and D. B. Harmon. Honorary pallbearers were A. W. Gary, Fred Cooper, Sr., Mel Dorris, E. C. Woodyear, Bill Yerger, Joe Clark and John Scott.
