Powell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 22, 1950 Mrs. Ollie F. Powell Funeral Held Here - Saturday Afternoon Mrs. Ollie Foster Powell, 88, wife of the late Franklin B. Powell, died last Friday afternoon at 4:05 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Patterson, on the Blue Front road, south of Tallulah. A native of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Powell had made her home in Madison Parish since 1925. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the First Methodist Church in Tallulah, with the Rev. John Kilpatrick, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Earl Wiggins, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Brannon, Baxter McDonald, Jr., David McDonald, E. E. Shamblin, A. P. Spearman, and Claude Searles. Mrs. Powell is survived by two sons, William F. and Charles E., both of Tallulah; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Patterson, Mrs. Baxter McDonald, Sr., and Miss Ruth Powell, all of Tallulah; a sister, Mrs. Charlie Mardis, Natchez, and 12 grandchildren,and six grandchildren.
