FOUR KILLED IN CRASH OF AUTOS NEAR ALEXANDRIA
Former Tallulah Resident Among Victims Of Tragedy

James T. Pollard, formerly of Tallulah, La., and his 19-month-old son were killed late yesterday in 
a head-on collision of two cars 10 miles north of Alexandria. Mrs. Pollard, the former Miss Carolyn 
Cason, of Tallulah, was seriously injured, it was reported.

Returning from Tallulah, where they had gone to cast their votes in the Louisiana election, their 
automobile crashed head-on into another car, killing Mr. Pollard outright; his son, Cason Pollard, 
died from injuries later in the night. Other dead were Steve Sbarcea, Jr., 35, and his wife, Anna, 
33, of Dearborn, Mich. 

Mr. Pollard had resided in Tallulah for many years, operating a cotton compress there. Besides his 
wife, survivors include a daughter, Patricia.

Mrs. Pollard is a former resident of Vicksburg having been employed as a stenographer in the
Illinois Central freight office here.

FUNERAL TODAY AT TALLULAH FOR WRECK VICTIM
James T. Pollard and Son To Be Buried, Wife In Hospital

TALLULAH, La., Feb. 28--Funeral services for James T. Pollard, 52, and his 19-Month-old son, 
Cason Pollard; who were killed in an automobile accident near Alexandria Tuesday afternoon, will 
be held at the Cason home in Tallulah this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Episcopal services will be held and burial will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Crothers Funeral 
Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pollard was killed instantly in the accident. His son died shortly afterwards, and Mrs. Pollard, 
the former Carolyn Cason of Tallulah was seriously injured. She is receiving treatment at an Alexandria 
hospital.
