All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Mary Pierce - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post January 16, 1944 FINAL RITES FOR MISS PIERCE IN TALLULAH TODAY TALLULAH, La., Jan. 15 -Funeral services for Miss Mary Pierce, a librarian at Wood College, Mathiston, Miss., and well-known resident of Tallulah, who died at her home here Thursday will be held at the Methodist church here Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Henry A. Rickey officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross cemetery. Miss Pierce was born in Manila, Philippine Islands, and has lived in this section since childhood. She had been a teacher in Louisiana and Mississippi schools before her employment as librarian. She was a Methodist and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. C. B. Pierce, a teacher in the Tallulah high school and a brother, Sgt. William Pierce of Keesler Field, Miss. Pallbearers will be Jesse Anderson, A. F. Graves, R. L. Moncrief, J. R. Linton, R. A. Almond, Vernon R. Thompson, C. E. Hester. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
