All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Everett Upton "Dick" Peeples - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 3, 1991 Funeral services for Mr. Everett Upton "Dick" Peeples, 86, were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Peeples died Thursday morning at Delta Haven Nursing Home. He was born in Eupora, Miss. and was raised by Dr. Walter Merritt in Boyle, Miss. Mr. Peeples played football and baseball at Ole Miss, and was captain of the football team and an All-American end. He also played semi-pro baseball and later had a contract with the Detroit Tigers, but a shoulder injury kept him from playing. Mr. Peeples was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Perry Lumber Company for 25 years. Survivors include one grandson, Richard Brett Peeples; one granddaughter, Nikki Peeples; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Don Wood, Robert Wood, Brian Kifer, Ron Hancock, Mac Cagnolatti Jr. and David Cagnolatti, Sean Milner and James Albert Martin.
