All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Jimmie Osborne - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 2, 1965 Jimmie Osborne Killed In Wreck, Funeral Tuesday Funeral services were held here Tuesday at 1 p. m. at the First Baptist Church for Jimmy Dale Osborne, 27, a sergeant of the Tallulah Police Department who was killed in a one-car wreck on U. S. Highway 80 five miles west of here about 1 a. m. Monday. Osborne's car according to reports apparently left the road, struck a ditch and hit a culvert. He was reported to have been driving to visit his mother at Waverly at the time of the accident. He has been a member of the Tallulah Police force for six years. He was a mason and a member of the Baptist Church, and Tallulah Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Municipal Peace Officers of Tallulah and Louisiana. The Rev. John Hurst officiated at the services. Burial followed at 3 p. m. in Pine Grove Cemetery at Bastrop under the direction of Cupit-Young Funeral Home of Tallulah. Masonic graveside rites were conducted. Survivors include his mother; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Axton of Ruston and Mrs. Melvia Parker of Bastrop; four brothers, Randolph Osborne of Alexandria; J. C. Osborne of Shreveport and Hub and Thomas Osborne both of Sterlington. Pallbearers are members of the Tallulah Police Department.
