NICOLS THIS MORNING Tallulah Resident Dies Monday At Age Of 81 TALLULAH, La, Aug. 23-Funeral services for Mrs. Ophelia Sevier Nicols were held from the Episcopal Church here this morning with the Reverend Daniel J. Gillam, rector of the church, officiating. Internment was in the family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Vicksburg with the Crothers Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Nicols, a prominent resident in Tallulah, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alberta Ammons, Monday. She was 81 years old. A member of the Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Nicols was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Gold Star Mothers of World War One, and the American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sons, Edwin Nicols, Austin, Texas and Albert Nicols, Shreveport; five grandchildren; six (great) grandchildren; and a brother, James Sevier, Gulfport. Pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Nicols were: W. P. Sevier, Jr., Jim Sevier, Barton Sevier, Albert Sevier, George Sevier, Andrew Sevier, and Dr. Preston Herring.
