All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Harry Nicols - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal May 31, 1940 Harry Nicols, Old Resident, Passes Away On Thursday Harry Nicols, one of the old residents of the parish, passed away about five o'clock Thursday morning in a hospital in Shreveport, after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Nicols would have been seventy-two years of age on the 20th of November, and has been a resident of this parish for many years. He was born at Friar's Point, Miss., and had lived practically his entire life in this section. He is survived by a brother, Dr. Nicols, of Durant, Miss., a sister, Mrs. Georgia Henderson, of Los Angeles, Cal., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. O. S. Nicols and her family of Tallulah. For some time Mr. Nicols had been employed as watchman by the Delta Cash Wholesale Grocery. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from the Williams Funeral Home in Tallulah with Rev. Geo. A. A. Tocher, rector of Trinity Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will take place immediately after the services in a Vicksburg cemetery.
