All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Robert Morris Newell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Jackson Clarion-Ledger November 30, 2016 Robert Morris "Bob" Newell, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Richard Catholic Church Columbarium. Mr. Newell was born on July 14, 1950 in Tallulah, LA, to the late David and Helen Newell. A 1972 graduate of Mississippi State University, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of HCM, Inc. for 24 years. Mr. Newell also was a licensed C.P.A.He was an active member of the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a daily communicant of St. Richard Catholic Church. Bob was an incredible friend who brought great humor, joy and love to all relationships. He was the glue that held everyone together. His Catholic Christian faith guided him throughout his life in every situation, good and not so good. He was devoted to his wife, Katherine, his children and grandchildren - a finer man you will not meet. Survivors include: his wife, Katherine Newell of Brandon; sons, Corbitt Newell of Ridgeland; Baker Newell of Brandon; Barrett Newell (Sandy) of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Ashlin, Emma and Rosie Newell; brother, David Newell (Rita) of Meridian; sister, Dianne Manning (Ed) of Meridian and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle.
