All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ John Riley Newell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 12, 1979 Funeral services for John Riley Newell, Hunter's Bend & Tallulah were held Thursday in the Parkview Baptist Church with the Revs. Xxenkins and Marion Collier officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Xxxxx Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Neweil died Tuesday in the Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi from a long illness. A native of Franklin County, Miss. Mr. Newell was a resident of Madison Parish for xx years, a retired farmer and member of the Warsaw Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, John Riley Newell Jr. and Charles Edwin Newell, both of Jackson, Miss., and Albert Quitman Newell of Natchez, Miss.; six daughters, Mrs. Lucille Boutwell of Jackson, Mrs. Ella Dozier of Laurel, Miss., Mrs. Frances Hoyle of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs. Katie Ruth Boyte of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Nell Bryant of Tallulah, and Mrs. Carolyn Boutwell of Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Alva Strong of Natchez, Mrs. Lena Mae Martin of Brookhaven, Miss., Mrs. Katie Huffman of Crystal Springs, Miss.; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Smith, George Boutwell, Ralph Bryant, Earl Bryant, Timothy Hoyle and Kenny Hoyle.
