All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Louis Allen Nettles, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 12, 1951 Louis Allen Nettles, Sr. Louis Allen Nettles, Sr., 61-year old resident of Tallulah, died Friday morning, October 5th at the Deming Ladies Hospital, Deming, New Mexico, following a lengthy illness. A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Mr. Nettles had made his home in Tallulah the past 23 years, where he was a well known plumbing contractor. He was a deacon of the First Baptist Church, member of the American Legion, and Masters Association of Plumbers. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church at 3 o'clock, with the pastor, Rev. Shirley Briggs, officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Eggleston, M. A. Wroten, A. H. Harrop, E. L. Wallace, Odo Cagnolatti and C. E. Hester. Honorary pallbearers were all deacons of the Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, L. A. Nettles, Jr., Tallulah; Rev. Kenneth Nettles, Champaign, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Theresa Heckathrone, Monroe, La.; his mother, Mrs. Ida Nettles, West Palm Beach, Fla. ; three brothers, four sisters, four grandchildren.
