E. Neill Final rites for James Elmer Neill, 74, who died in a Vicksburg hospital Sunday night, were held at the First Methodist Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. William F. Mayo officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Neill was born in Medina County, Texas, and had been a resident of Tallulah since 1924. He came to Tallulah from Pearsall, Texas. He was manager of the Yerger Oil Company, president of the Delta Butane Company, and vice president of the Tallulah State Bank & Trust Company. He was an active civic leader. He served on the board of stewards of the Tallulah Methodist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Always interested in the welfare of his friends and community; he will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice M. Neill; one son, Elmer Neill, Jr., both of Tallulah; one brother, J. W. Neill of Houston Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Leon Briscoe of Austin, Texas, Mrs. C. H. Hess of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Jim Burns of Devine, Texas, and Mrs. Lola Cockerham of Sinton, Texas, and two grandchildren. Active pallbearers are R. L. Bailey, Jr., George Yerger, Jr., Maxwell Yerger, H. C. Sevier, Sr., Jim Gilfoil, T. A. Bishop and A. N. Duke. The Board of Directors of Tallulah State Bank & Trust Company served as honorary pallbearers. They were: W. W. Ziegler, W. Z. Adams, M. M. Bloom, Dr. H. S. Provine, A. V. Sevier, M. W. Washburn and E. C. Woodyear. Other honorary pallbearers were: R. N. Ware, Howard Sevier, Andrew Sevier, Bill Yerger, Edward Yerger, Rufus Yerger, Dr. Gus Street and Dr. R. A. Street of Vicksburg; R. D. Crow, Shreveport, George Kimbrough, Fred Schatz, Helena, Ark., and Fred Hutchinson, Magnolia, Ark.
