Lela relocated to Pittsburg, California, when she was a teenager, then she moved to Lemoore where she met her husband, Eugene Neal. As a resident of Lemoore she was a domestic homemaker, teachers aide at Lemoore Elementary for 5 years and a yarn spinner at Candlewick Yarns for 10 years. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church since 1969 and was a very faithful and dedicated member. If you knew Lela, she was a very quiet lady with a lot of wisdom and knowledge. She spoke softly, but you listened patiently. Lela enjoyed traveling and going out to dinner, but above all she loved God, her husband, children and friends. Lela departed this life on Monday, June 25, 2007, at Hanford Community Hospital at the age of 78. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 46 years, Deacon Eugene Neal of Lemoore; (5) sons, Jimmie Glaspie of Hanford, Donald Patrick of Hanford, Herman Patrick of Knoxville, Tenn., Victor Patrick and (wife) Betty of Las Vegas, Nev., and Fred Patrick of Lemoore; (2) daughters, Mildred Glaspie of Las Vegas, Nev., and Anitra Leaper and (husband) William of Las Vegas, Nev. ; (3) grandchildren and (1) great-grandchild; (5) brothers-in-law and (4) sisters-in-law; (2) special nieces, Pam and Cathy; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Lily Of The Valley Church in Lemoore with burial to follow in Lemoore Cemetery.
