Murphy - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 30, 1986 Services for Thomas I. Murphy, 62, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crothers Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Murphy died Saturday at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Ida and a resident of Tallulah for 49 years. Mr. Murphy was a Baptist and was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a former prisoner of war in World War II, a member of the American Legion Post #100, and the James LaRue Harmon Post of the VFW in Tallulah. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Patti Gaschler and Mrs. Cathy Gaschler, both of Brighton, Colo., and Mrs. Beth Summersell of Mobile, Ala.; one brother, Norman Murphy of Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Mary Murphy, Mrs. Billie Byram, and Mrs. Pat Windham, all of Tallulah; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Todd Windham, Bill Windham, Dick Caraway, John Byram, Pat Patrick, and James Albert Martin.
