Tressie Belle Murphy - Madison Parish, Louisiana

Funeral services for Mrs. Tressie Belle Murphy, 83, of Tallulah, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ned Stout officiating.

 

Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery' under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Murphy died Saturday at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Ida, a resident of Tallulah for 40 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tallulah.

 

Survivors include two sons, Thomas I. Murphy of Tallulah and Norman E. Murphy of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Billie Byram, Mrs. Pat Windham and Miss Mary Murphy, all of Tallulah; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers were Larry Terry, Bill Martin, John Earl Martin, James Albert Martin, James "Boss" Martin, Leon Harris, Bob Goza and James Holloway.
