Ellen Elizabeth Murphy, age 75, of Donalds, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on January 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Hoyt Bruce, and Ila Jones Bruce. She and her husband, Norman E. Murphy, made their home in Tallulah, LA for many years. After his death, she moved back to South Carolina to be with her family, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her step-son, Lloyd Murphy, of Tallulah, LA; brothers, Buren Bruce and his wife Louise, of Nashville, TN, Randall Bruce and his wife Susan, of Belton, SC, Lee Bruce and his wife Gayle, Marshall Bruce and Racheal, of Anderson, SC; sisters, Glenda "Sis" Stone, of Donalds, SC, Velna Marrone, of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Loren Murphy, of Tallulah, LA, Neal Murphy, of Gaffney, SC and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded by; step-child, Neal Murphy; five brothers, Leslie, James, Larry, George, and Louis Bruce; an infant sister, Mary Elsie Bruce; and a grandchild, Amy Murphy. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. The funeral will follow in the Chapel at 3:30 p.m. officiated by Chaplain Damion Hutchins.
