T. Moore Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a. m. at Crothers Funeral Chapel for Loyd Thomas Moore, 52, who was killed in a one-car accident Monday night in Monroe. Rev. Bobby Brown officiated with burial following in Stevenson Cemetery in Richland Parish near Holly Ridge. According to reports out of Monroe he slammed into a bridge railing of Young's Bayou on Orange Street in Monroe and flipped into the air and came to rest upside down in five feet of water. Ouachita Parish Coroner J. W. Cummins, about an hour later pronounced Mr. Moore dead. He did not rule on the cause of death. One witness who was in a cafe did he heard an explosion when the auto struck into the 35-foot length of six-inch timbers railing the bridge. Timber in lengths of 20 ft were thrown about 100 feet north of the scene of the accident. Mr. Moore a native of Rayville, had lived in Madison Parish for the past two years. He was a veteran of World War 11 and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annis Moore; four sons, Robert W. Moore, L. T. Moore, Jr., and Joseph F. Moore all of Tallulah, and Don Moore of Dallas, Texas, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Nolan and Miss Sadie Moore, both of Tallulah; one brother, Delbert Moore of Delhi; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Collins of Epps and Mrs. Lovey Mae Collins of Olla; and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Moore's nephews acted as pallbearers.
