All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Thomas Hugh Montgomery - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 3, 1959 Services Held Tuesday For Hugh Montgomery Funeral services for Thomas Hugh Montgomery, 53, a retired assistant postmaster, were held here Tuesday at 3 p. m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. William S. Spilman officiating. Interment followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Mr. Montgomery died early Monday at the Madison Parish Hospital after being stricken at home. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. A retired assistant postmaster, he was with the postal department for many years. He retired in 1956 due to ill health. His quiet and pleasant manner endeared him to all his friends and associates. He was a devoted husband and father. Born in Brookhaven, Miss., Mr. Montgomery had lived in Madison Parish since 1920. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and had served on the vestry for a number of years, and was also a Mason. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethlyn Montgomery, Tallulah; a daughter, Mrs. King Trieschmann, Lake Providence; a son, Thomas, Jr., Tallulah; and two sisters, Mrs. Seared Daigre, Greenwood, Miss., and Mrs. R. Mize, Jackson, Miss. Pallbearers were W. Z. Adams, Field Montgomery, Bill Yerger, Billy and C. B. DeMoss, Dr. George Webb, Robert Gandy and Lancaster Kell.
