Montgomery Rites. This Afternoon In Tallulah Church TALLULAH, La., Feb. 17-Funeral services were scheduled at the Methodist Church here this afternoon for Thomas Hugh Montgomery, 74, mayor of Tallulah who died Sunday morning in Vicksburg after a heart attack. The services were scheduled at 2:30 this afternoon, the Rev. J. F. Kilpatrick officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dean Maurer, Episcopal minister. Interment will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Tom Bradley, Francis Ward, Jim Sevier, Lancaster Kell, Cliff Erwin, and Jerome Post. Honorary pallbearers will be E. E. Williamson, C. N. Buckalew, Cliff Adams, Bart Eisley, R. M. Almond, W. D. Womack and P. O. Benjamin. Born in Brookhaven, Mayor Montgomery was once sheriff of Lincoln County, Mississippi. After coming to Tallulah, he was employed on the police force and was elected mayor last spring. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Hugh Montgomery, Jr. of Tallulah and Frank Montgomery of Goldonna, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Campbell Mize of Brookhaven and Mrs. Sear D. Daigre of Grenada; two brothers, Thaddeus Montgomery of Lafayette, La., and Fred Montgomery of Brookhaven; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Conn of Monticello and Mrs. Rena M. Miller of Jackson.
