All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William James Monk Madison Parish, LA From Tallulah Madison Journal July 25, 1954 William Monk Rites Held Wednesday William James Monk, 53-year old resident of Tallulah died at his home Sunday after a heart attack. He was an employee of Chicago Mill & Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife; one son, Charlie Monk; one daughter, Mrs. Bennie Lucille Vourque; three grandchildren; six brothers, Ben Monk of Castor, Carl Monk of Heflin, Lee and Clyde Monk of Delhi, John Monk of Lake Charles, and Charlie Monk of St. Louis, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the West Green Street Baptist Church with Rev. Williams Jones officiating. Burial followed in Old Rahmer Cemetery at Ashland under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Marion Smith, O. W. Hough, Herman Thornton, A. B. Boston, Vernon Foster and J. P. Matthews.
