All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************* Vera Agnes Mixon Mitchell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News Star, June 7, 2011 Services for Vera Agnes Mixon Mitchell, 82, of Tallulah, LA will be at 10:00 a.m. June 8, 2011 at Crothers-Glenwood Funral Home in Tallulah, LA with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home, Tallulah, LA. Visitation will be June 7 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Mitchell died June 5, 2011 at 9:30 in Monroe after a brief illness at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Kentwood, LA on October 20, 1928. Agnes married W. L. Mitchell on August 12, 1947. In 1954 they moved to Tallulah, LA and bought the Star Drive-In Theater. Agnes worked at TG&Y, Family Dollar Store and the Louisiana Travel Center at Mound, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah, LA. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one daughter and one son. Gwendolyn and Danny Sisk of Monroe, William Douglas and Terri Mitchell of West Monroe; six grandchildren Danny Ray Mitchell of Tallulah, Jason and Brandi Sisk of Monroe, Jonathan and Jessica Sisk of Weatherford, TX, Jeremy Sisk of Monroe, Devin Mitchell and Dustin Mitchell of West Monroe; three great-granddaughters Channon Mitchell of Tallulah, Natalie and Katelyn Sisk of Monroe; one great-grandson Wyatt Lane Sisk of Weatherford, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband W. L. Mitchell, mother Mary Lula Crawford Mixon, father Leslie Daniel Mixon, son Danny Larry Mitchell, two sisters Tincie Hayden and Pearl Mixon and one brother Hilton Mixon. Active pallbearers will be Jason Sisk, Jonathan Sisk, Jeremy Sisk, Dustin Mitchell, Danny Ray Mitchell and Johnny Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lee Mitchell.
