All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************* James Greely Mims - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Cleveland, MS Bolivar Commercial, October 22, 2010 James Greely Mims, 83, of Tallulah, La., formerly of Minter City, died Sunday, October 17, 2010, at his residence in Tallulah, La. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church near Ruleville under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah, La. The Rev. Bob O’Neal of Tupelo will conduct the services. The burial will follow at the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Thursday before the funeral service at the church. Mr. Mims was born in Durham and resided in Minter City most of his life. He was a retired pipeline supervisor for Texas Gas Inc. and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Mims was preceded in death by his parents, Z.O. and Lois Mims; wife, Mrs. Ruth Dees Mims of Minter City; and brother, Robert Mims of Springfield, Tenn. Survivors include one son, James Gary Mims of Minter City; two daughters, Wanda Adams of Tallulah, La., and Linda Nelms of Greenwood; two sisters, Gatha Traylor of Springfield, Tenn., and Lillian Kyle of Minter City; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson of Minter City, David Kyle of Hardy and his grandsons, Robert Adams and William Adams, both of Tallulah, La., Michael Mims of Money and John Thomas Nelms III of Carrollton. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Kyle of Minter City and William Lindsey of Cleveland.
