All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Joel Thomas Mills - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 21, 1990 Funeral services for Mr. Joel Thomas Mills, 67, of Smyrna, Tenn. were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at Woodfin Chapel with Rev. Malcolm Patton officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery. Mr. Mills, a former resident of Tallulah, was a native of Huntley, Minn. A member of the Smyrna United Methodist Church and U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a retired air traffic controller with the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Cromwell Mills of Smyrna; two daughters, Mrs. Debra Mills Brandon and Mrs. Teresa Mills Palmer, both of Smyrna; one son, Joel Thomas Mills Jr. of Long Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Myron Bailey of Tallulah and Mrs. John Hoogland of Ruston; two brothers, Richard Mills of Folsom, Calif. and Darrel Mills of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Earl Bucher, Bill Murphy, Charles Huggins, Gerald Lee, Jim Akin, Edward Mills, Dr. Myron Bailey, Johnny Brandon, Richard Hoogland, Frederick Hoogland, Donald Hoogland and James Hoogland. The family requests that memorials be made to the building fund at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
