All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Hugh Bert Miller - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News-Star July 8, 1968 CLARKS (Special) — Hugh Bert Miller, 91, of Clarks, died early Sunday morning in the Haven Nursing Home in Columia following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Clarks Baptist Church under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Rev. Cardelia Johnson [sic Carvelia Johnston] will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah at 2 p.m. under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Miller was a native of Homer but had resided in Clarks for a number of years. Survivors include two sons, L. F. Miller, Clarks, and Thomas W. Miller of Gulfport, Miss.; six daughters, Mrs. Lois Gardner, Mrs. Lillian Huckabee [sic Huckabay], Mrs. Earline [sic Erline] Harvey and Mrs. Ruby Waltman, all of Tallulah, Mrs. Evelyn Crouch, Bastrop, and Mrs. Mary Gibson of Monroe; two brothers, Sid Miller, Homer, and Joe Miller of Sibley; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Reagan, Minden, Mrs. Willie Mae Temple, Shreveport and Mrs. Flonnie Arthur, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Freddy Hidgans, Gerald Hidgans, Arlen Ray Gardner, James Crough, A. R. Mills and Gerald Collins.
