All rights reserved. ************************************************ Benjamin Holladay Means - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Billings (MT) Gazette December 14, 2003 WALSENBURG, Colo. - Funeral services for former Casper resident Benjamin Holladay Means, 77, of Walsenburg, were conducted Dec. 2, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Walsenburg. Cremation followed. Interment services, with military honors, will be held at a later date in Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville. He died Nov. 29, 2003, at his home. Born Sept. 16, 1926, in Tallulah, La., he was the son of Benjamin Hogan and Laura Lee (Holladay) Means. He served in the U.S. Navy. After earning a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Houston, he worked for many companies throughout his career, from the Gulf Coast area to Canada. On March 4, 1949, he married Tommy Jean Digby in Houston. A devoted husband and father, he was an avid hunter and loved to travel. Survivors include his wife of 54 years; four children, Linda Gehres and her husband and Diane Andersen, both of Casper, Donna Hall and her husband of Evanston and Ben Means II and his wife of Walsenburg; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
