McKnight - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 22, 1989 Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha G. McKnight, 71, were Friday at the Tallulah First Baptist Church with Rev. John Rushing and Rev. J. W. Bignar officiating. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. McKnight died Wednesday, Feb. 15 at her home after an apparent heart attack. She was a native of Delhi, a resident of Madison Parish for the past 46 years, a homemaker and a member of the Tallulah First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Wayne McKnight of Tallulah and Pete McKnight of Bastrop; two daughters, Julia Bankston of Shreveport and Linda Darline Cherene of Tallulah; one brother, Richard Garley Jr. of Delhi; three sisters, Ruth Russell of Delhi, Dorothy Bradley of Jackson, Miss. and Lillian Norris of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her step-mother, Myrtle Mickell of Delhi; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Nephews served as pallbearers.
