McKinney - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 30, 1970 Rites held for former resident William J. McKinney, 76, of Jonesboro died at 6 a.m. December 23 at his home following a long illness. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. December 24 in Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. James Adams officiating. Burial was in Train Memorial Cemetery in Jonesboro. Mr. McKinney lived in Madison Parish for many years, where he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad He had retired several years ago, following 46 years service with the railroad. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clyde Blanche McKinney of Jonesboro; a son, James S. McKinney of Freeport, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Sam Lucy of Jonesboro; a sister, Mrs. Josie Dickens of Minden; 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Pallbearers were L. J. Beasly, Herman Culpepper. J. T. Peddy, Frank Walker. Jr., O. L. Whitman and others.
