McKain - Madison Parish, Louisiana From St. Joseph, LA Tensas Gazette February 11, 1916 The remains of Mr. W. E. McKain were laid to rest at the Tallulah Cemetery Thursday evening beside his wife who died about two years ago. Mr. McKain had been living in Texas during the last few years. He was born in Mil[t]on, Florida, in 1843 [sic 1848], and came to Louisiana where he engaged in the mercantile business. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edward [sic Edgar] T. Purnell of Tallulah; Mrs. Joseph Reeves, of Vidalia; Mrs. Leake [sic Zachary] Monroe, of Big Lake, Texas and Mrs. Howard Brown, of Fort Worth, Texas. His remains were followed to the last resting place by a number of friends who knew him as a resident of this parish. The services were performed by Rev. V. D. Skipper.
