All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Helen McFarland - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 17, 1975 Funeral services for Mrs. Helen McFarland of Shreveport were held at 2:20 p.m. in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. xxxx xxxx officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery Mrs. McFarland died Monday in a Shreveport hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. A native of Wetumpka, Ala., Mrs. McFarland had resided in Shreveport for several years. She was a member of Jehovah's Witness Church. Survivors include her husband, J. A. McFarland of Shreveport; one son, John A. Taylor of Pascagoula, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Kennon Ray McBride of Athens; her mother, Mrs. Lettie Mae Thornton of Tallulah; three sisters, Mrs. May Ella Irby of Waverly, Mrs. Elaine McCurry of Avery, Texas and Mrs. Sara Nell Rogers of Tallulah; two brothers, Elijah Thornton of Tallulah and Jessie R. Thornton of Athens; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bob Massey, Don Daniels, Cliff Burroughs, Bud Ritchie, John Galloway, and Clint Ritchie.
