All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Evalyne White McClain - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 20, 1970 Final rites held for former resident Mrs. Evalyne White McClain died Friday morning, August 14, at Traceway Manor Nursing Home in Tupelo, Miss. following a long illness. Mrs. McClain, widow of the late Dr. James Lee McClain of Greenwood, was born in Dyersburg, Tenn. in 1884, the daughter of the late Ella Pierce White and Crawford White of Dyersburg. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a buyer for 30 years for Gerbers Department Store in Memphis. After she retired she moved to Tallulah where she lived for several years with her sister, the late Mrs. D.H. Allen. Mrs. McClain is survived by two stepsons; Dr. Robert B. McClain, Jackson, Miss. and Col. David McClain, Clearwater, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert Buffington, Laguna Hill,, California. Services were held Monday, August 17, in Tupelo, under the direction of McGrath-Rasberry Funeral Home. Graveside services were held in Tallulah Mon-day at 2:30 p.m. in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Clark Bell officiating.
