All rights reserved. ************************************************ Billy Ray McCarty - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Wilmington NC Morning Star, November 6, 2006 Billy Ray McCarty, 73, of Rocky Point, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at his residence. Billy was born September 22, 1933, in Tallulah, LA, son of the late Wilbert and Emma McCarty. His wife of 43 years, Mary Helen McCarty, preceded him in death. Mr. McCarty served in the Korean Conflict during his thirteen years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an Industrial Construction Engineer for 40 years. He is survived by four children, Billy W. McCarty and partner Mack Porter of Wilmington, NC, Michael D. McCarty and wife Karen, of Sterling, VA, Phyllis L. Williams and husband Joe, of Wakersville, MD, and James R. McCarty and wife Karlyn, of Florence, SC; seven grandchildren, Justin McCarty, Shannon Williams, Jessica Williams, Madison McCarty, Kameryn McCarty, Helen McCarty, and Jane McCarty. The family will receive friends from 7pm to 8pm Monday, November 6, 2006, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11am Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Rev. Daniel Warnes officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Billy’s memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 725-A Wellington Ave, Wilmington, NC 28401.
