Mathews were held Monday, May 13, 1996 at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Burial was at Silver Cross Cemetery. Visitation was 10:00 a.m. till noon, Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Mathews died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at Marshall Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Texas. She was 95. She was born in Pope City, Iowa, and was a homemaker and a resident of Tallulah for 40 years. She had lived in Waskom, Texas, for the past eight years. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou McNeel of Waskom; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister; one son-in-law; and a host of family members and friends,
