Mathews - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal March 22, 2008 John R. Mathews was born January 22, 1949. J. R., the gator man, passed away suddenly at his home on March 21, 2008 in Violet. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. (Buddy) Mathews. He is survived by his mother, Lavon Mathews of Vinton; his sister, Ella Jurgens of Buffalo, MO; brothers, Perry Mathews of Moultrie, GA and B. B. Mathews of Cave City, AR; "Special Lady", Susan Busby of Violet; close cousin, Calvin Lambert of Bastrop; nieces: Michele, Maria, Melissa, Teri, Linda, Kim, Leslie and nephew, Gene. He is also survived by numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends. Memorial services will be held 2:00 on Friday, March 28th at 303 Sheri Kay Drive in Richmond. He was loved and will he deeply missed.
