Martin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, November 19, 1986 Mrs. Bessie C. Martin, 85, died Tuesday at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a short illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tallulah Methodist Church with the Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. She was a native of Grand Cane and a resident of Tallulah for the past 55 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Tallulah Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, James C. Martin and John E. Martin, both of Tallulah; two daughters, Virginia Holloway and Elsie Harris, both of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Mae Johnston of Jackson, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons.
