Marsden - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 1, 1988 Funeral services for Mrs. Susie R. Marsden, 64, were held at 3 pm. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Charles Gaston officiating . Burial was in Silver Gross Cemetery. Mrs. Marsden died Monday at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Mississippi and had lived in Madison Parish for the past 64 years. She was co-owner and operator of Marsden Grocery in Talla Bena since 1955 and was a member of the Mound Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband. Clarence Marsden of Tallulah; one daughter, Libby Tower of Phoenix, Az.; two brothers, Douglas Traxler of Vicksburg and Darnell Traxler of Antioch, Ca.; seven sisters, Roberta Tice of Selma. Ala., Corine Fife of Savannah, Ga., Clara May Wicker of Midland, Tx., Erma Lee Striz of Strawn, Tx., Flora Bell Hardin of Bryan, Tx., Minnie Bourgoyne of Vicksburg and Hazel Thornhill of Transylvania; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tommy Byrd, Bobby Sullivan, Donnie Frith, Ronnie Frith, Bill Harris and Al Horath.
