Manning - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post April 9, 1949 AUTO ACCIDENT FATAL TO FORMER TALLULAH MAN Services In Tallulah For William V. Manning Sunday TALLULAH, La., April 9 -- William V. Manning, 60, a former resident of Tallulah, was killed in an automobile accident late Friday near Nashville, Tenn., according to information received last night by relatives here. Mr. Manning was an inspector for the National Hardwood Lumber Association of Chicago, working in the Nashville area. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and had lived in Tallulah in former years. The body will arrive in Tallulah early Sunday and funeral services will be held at the Tallulah Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. Shirley Briggs, pastor, officiating. The hour of the services had not been established this morning. Burial will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Members of the Portland, Arkansas, Masonic lodge, of which Mr. Manning was a member, will take part in the rites at the grave. The Crothers funeral home in charge. Mr. Manning is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella Manning of Nashville; one son, William F. Manning of Mendenhall, Miss.; two daughters. Mrs. Margie M. Pritts of Tallulah and Mrs. Ruby Harkey of Tallulah, four brothers, Roy. Manning of New Orleans; Ollie Manning of Hamburg, Ark., Wright Manning of Hamburg and Fred Manning of Booneville, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Dan Johnson of Memphis, Mrs. Herbert Dawkins of Bastrop, Mrs. Jim Johnson of Crossett, Ark. and Mrs. Bruce Hollingsworth of Forrest City, Ark.
