Long - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal April 15, 2015 Funeral services for Mabel R. Long will be held Sun. April 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Tallulah Presbyterian Church, with Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home. Long died March 31, 2015, one day before her 99th birthday. She was born April 1, 1916, in Rayville. She retired from the Madison Parish school system after teaching elementary school for 30 years. Long is survived by three grandsons, Craig (Chris) Russell, of Mahomet, Ill., Dr. Robert (Laurie) Russell, of Minden, La., and Chris (Lisa) Russell of Austin, Texas and six great-grandchildren, Britni, Brandon, Elizabeth, Ethan, Maia, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Monette Comption; her parents; two husbands, Frank M. Craig and Robert G. Long; three sisters and one brother.
