All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dr. Attie Gaines Leeves - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 23, 1988 Funeral services for Dr. Attie Gaines Leeves, 70, were at 10 a.m. Monday in The First Baptist Church in Vicksburg with Dr. Gordon Sansing officiating. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Dr. Leeves died Saturday at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg following a brief illness. Dr. Leeves was a native of Tallulah, a 1934 graduate of Tallulah High, an undergraduate of LSU and a graduate of Tulane Medical School. She interned in Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport. Dr. Leeves was a practicing physician in Tallulah for many years before her retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg. Survivors include one nephew Bill Grimes of Tyler, Tex. and one great nephew, Will Grimes of Bastrop. Pallbearers were Joe Cupit, Edgar H. Lancaster Jr., Dr. Joseph Yerger, John Rogan, Warren Patrick and Udell Jones. Honorary pallbearers were J. E. Blackburn, James Lundy, Dr. Gordon Sansing, Richard McGee, John Strange, Dr. John McCall, Herbert Massey, Bill Pierce and Ralph Holloway.
