Lee, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Ruston Daily Leader May 8, 1957 Last rites were to be held today for Robert E. Lee, Jr., 19-year-old Louisiana Tech sophomore, of 720 South Lincoln, Tallulah, La., who was fatally injured in an automobile-train collision near here Tuesday. Funeral services were scheduled for 4 o'clock this afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Tallulah, with Rev. A. H. Johnson, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church here, officiating. Burial was to be in Tallulah Cemetery. The youth died in Ruston Hospital at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from multiple injuries received in the crash which occurred less than two hours earlier at a Rock Island Railroad crossing about five miles south of Ruston on Highway 167. The body was taken to Tallulah last night by Darby Funeral Home. After graduating from Tallulah High School, Lee entered Louisiana Tech in Ruston as a freshman. He was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity and lived in the fraternity house on Tech campus. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lee, Sr., of Tallulah, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Lee of Oak Grove, La.
