Lee - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 27, 1967 Services Held For George Lee On October 21st Funeral services for George O. Lee, 65, were held at 10 a. m. last Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John S. Hurt officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Lee died in East Carroll Parish Hospital, Lake Providence, Thursday evening from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Lake Providence on Thursday about 6:30 P. M. According to reports in Lake Providence, Mr. Lee, traveling west, ran a stop sign on the Rivergrain Port Road, approximately 12 miles south of Lake Providence and skidded into U. S. 65 into the path of a pickup truck driven by Rafe Russell, 30, Lake Providence. Russell and the passengers in the truck, Joe Davis, I. V. Larry, and Jack Stewart, all of Lake Providence, suffered only minor injuries. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rhodessa Underwood Lee of Tallulah; a daughter, Mrs. Horace Russell of Tallulah; two sons, Hoyt Lee, Principal of West Monroe Junior High School, West Monroe and James R. Lee of Hayward, Calif.; three brothers and four sisters, five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Pete Russell, Luther Russell, Billy Frith, Winfred Parker, Roy Erwin, and Earnest Givens.
