LaPort - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 7, 1949 Funeral Services For Mr. C. A. LaPort Held Thursday Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mr. C A. LaPort, 73-year-old resident of this community, who died Monday morning at 2:30 from a heart ailment at the Madison Clinic. Mr. LaPort was born in Boon County, Iowa on February 12 1875, and resided in this community for the past 18 years. Services were held Thursday afternoon from the Crothers Chapel at 2 o'clock with Rev Shirley Briggs officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Watts, George Hedgepeth, L. Wise, John Vrannon, George Watts, J. C. Hutchens. Mr. LaPort is survived by one daughter, Miss Viola LaPort of Iowa, and two brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.
