Laird will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight. Mrs. Laird died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83. She was born in Swartz, La., and had lived in Tallulah for 54 years. She was a store cashier and a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Laird. She is survived by two sons, Billy Wayne Laird of Parkdale, Ark., and Dewey Daniel Laird of Tallulah; a daughter, Ellen Janice Herman of Tallulah; two sisters, Dorothy Avery of Haughton, La., and Lula Faye Massey of Monroe; a brother, Jack Hartley of Stuttgart, Ark.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Laird, Jason Laird, Troy Burgess, Patrick Barrett, David Herman and Charles L. Nolan Sr.
